Job Summary
This Research Technician position will be responsible for assisting with genotyping and phenotyping plants. They will help the postdoc and graduate student leading investigation of stomata and water use efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Screening plants via genotyping and phenotyping.
- Phenotyping traits related to stomata, photosynthesis, and water-use efficiency.
- Designing and making transgenic plants
- Maintaining plants in greenhouse and growth chambers for experimentation.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a biological sciences or related field. Experience with PCR-based genotyping of transgenic plants. Proven experience with standard molecular biology techniques.
Preferred QualificationsGraduate degree in biological sciences or related field. Experience with construct design, propagation of plants in controlled environments, and phenotyping of plant physiology and growth.

Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 1/16/2025. The budgeted salary range is $58,656 to $63,000 per year. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
This position will be appointed on a yearly basis, and may be renewable annually during the start of the academic year; subject to periodic reviews that include continued participation in theme-related activities, compliance with university policies, and upholding of IGB's commitment to providing an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment.
