Overview

The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists focused on the discovery, development, and characterization of novel drug candidates to treat diseases with unmet needs. Specifically, the candidate will support the research team by investigating therapeutics for neutrophil-mediated diseases in various pre-clinical projects, assisting with in vitro and ex vivo assays.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct assay development to support the evaluation of DPP1 mechanisms of action and perform neutrophil functional assays.
  • Perform in vitro assays to support various programs, including primary cell and cell line culture, western blot, flow cytometry, enzymatic assays, ELISA, Luminex multiplex immunoassays, PCR, and qPCR.
  • Support in vivo studies, including colony management and processing ex vivo samples.
  • Perform data analysis using Excel, GraphPad Prism and FlowJo.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results in electronic notebooks and generate internal technical reports as needed.
  • Summarize experimental results and present scientific findings at both internal and external research meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior team members.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Contribute as a co-author to scientific journal publications.
Qualifications
  • PhD in a life science field such as Biology or Immunology, or MS with at least 4 years of pharmaceutical experience, or BS with at least 6 years of pharmaceutical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology assays including western blot, flow cytometry, enzymatic assays, and ELISA is required.
  • Knowledge of data processing and documentation is required.
  • Experience drafting and publishing academic articles is required.
  • Experience working with cellular imaging instruments, fluorescence microscope, or ddPCR is a plus.
  • Experience working with in vivo studies or samples is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team environment is essential.
  • High degree of organization and time management skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

The base salary range for this job is from $89,000.00 to $119,267.00 per year
