We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a strong background in immunology and/or cell therapy to join our team. This is a lab-based position located in Waltham, Massachusetts, within AstraZeneca's state-of-the-art laboratories. Here, you will follow the science to help drive innovation and advance medicines to improve patients' lives. Accountabilities
We are looking for a team player who is self-motivated and passionate about innovative scientific research leading to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. Expertise in primary cell culture and assay development is essential. Skills in flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine read-outs, qPCR, and in vitro/ex vivo culture of immune cells are strongly preferred.
You will contribute to developing novel cell therapies for immunological diseases by supporting assay development, target identification, target validation, and drug development. You will primarily work with human immune cells from healthy donors and patients in vitro. Thus, expertise in primary cell culture, functional assays, and assay development as well as solid experience with multi-color flow cytometry is essential. Hands-on experience with tissue-derived immune cells is strongly preferred. Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, in vitro 3D models, or human tissue samples is a plus.
You will work closely with highly accomplished scientists across different functional teams and locations, benefiting from their support and mentorship.
