This temporary Senior Accountant role, working onsite for 1-2 months, reports to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for key aspects of financial management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and footnotes.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for banks, credit cards, and general ledger accounts, along with preparing journal entries for investments, payroll, fixed assets, accruals, and more.
• Verify and record accounts payable invoices, prepare intercompany accounts receivable invoices, and manage grant reconciliations.
• Maintain investment files, prepare wire transfers, annual 1099s, tax reports, and secure accounting records.
• Contribute to improving accounting processes and controls, and assist with special projects or research as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-7 years of related experience, ideally in nonprofit accounting.
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks with tight deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of QuickBooks and MS Office Suite.
