Major/Essential Functions
Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to area, making recommendations and assisting in implementation of projects. Work is performed under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Utilize proactive clear and professional communication to provide changes and relevant information to supervisor.
- Performs analysis of daily work including ePAFs, LRs, EOPs, HR transactions and Budget Revisions for adherence to governing regulations, policies and procedures.
- Run and review Cognos consistency edits. Analyzing data for possible errors, if necessary, initiating and performing corrective action.
- Review Negative Balances reports and edits for adherence to governing regulations, policies and procedures.
- Testing of the Banner System and Budget related systems.
- Assist departmental users with budget and personnel questions.
- Understanding and utilization of systems and data to provide financial and analytical support including analyzing budgets for reasonableness and overspending.
- Produce and maintain complete well-organized documentation.
- Assist in preparation of Annual Operating Budget
- Actively continues personal education and development.
- Train department users on Budget related systems.
- Ability to design and prepare financial management reports from budget and accounting records.
- Should possess extensive PC skills, including knowledge of Enterprise systems, Internet, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- The individual should have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet specific deadlines.
- Individual should also have excellent problem-solving, analyzation and decision-making skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with at least 9 hours of Accounting. Responsible work experience in an institution of higher education may substitute for degree.
- Five years of experience in governmental or financial management work with experience in institutions of higher education highly desirable.
- Experience working with Budget, Human Resources and/or financial data and systems in a professional setting.
- Prior experience working in creation and maintenance of budgets.
- Prior experience/utilization of Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Banner, Cognos and other TTUS Systems.
