How will you make an impact?

As Sr. Director, you will play an important part of the global communications function to build an integrated communications strategy to support our Pharma Services business, providing industry leading end-to-end pharma services for drug development, clinical trial logistics and commercial manufacturing for customers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences industries to deliver medicine to patients faster.

Reporting to the Vice President, Business Communications, you will be a trusted communications advisor to the business, serving as communications representative on the business leadership team, while collaborating with various business partners including finance, human resources, marketing and commercial, on business needs and opportunities.

What will you do?

• Partner with leadership to build continued awareness of Pharma Services and capabilities with customers, media, government officials, potential talent, and local communities.
  
• Develop a compelling narrative for the business to influence key audiences through impactful storylines and thought leadership platforms for key executives.
  
• Motivate and inspire through success stories and Mission based narratives.
  
• Create performance indicators and processes that help us measure communications impact, campaign success, and visibility and reinforce our culture of achievement and accountability.
  
• Deliver communications in efficient and effective ways by recommending enhanced approaches, technical capabilities and communications standards.
  
• Serve as a career development advocate for team members in the function and uses talent and capabilities to support both functional and business goals.
  
• Ability to travel as needed.
  

How will you get here:

Education

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or English is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10-15+ years with varied experience in integrated communications - blend of public relations, social media, employee communications, government relations, change communications, issues management and marketing communications experience.
  
• Experience working across a matrixed organization and reaching diverse audiences is a plus.
  
• Variety of relevant business experience including being a quick study of a business, understanding the value-enablers, and relating to bottom-line impact, executive presence.

• Candidate will have strong understanding and curiosity about science and technology with a shown ability to craft messages focused on high level benefits for our customers.
  
• Proactively identify and manage potential communication issues or crises, providing strategic guidance to senior leadership and successfully executing appropriate response plans.
  
• Ability to influence business partners and facilitate alignment between business and corporate objectives.
  
• Communicate clearly, concisely and efficiently in addition to strong writer, editor and storyteller and strong verbal communicator with excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
  
• Business knowledge and intellectual curiosity to learn about business strategies, competitive landscape and scientific technologies.
  
• Strength in hiring, mentoring & developing teams.
  
• Collaborative open style, problem solver with ability to complete plans and help connect the dots.
  
• Proficient in MS Office tools, especially PowerPoint. MS SharePoint content creation /experience a strong plus.
  
• Focused, detailed and organized and able to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
