Key Responsibilities:

Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Sr. Packaging Equipment Engineer to support the Supply Chain Engineering team. The individual must also have strong packaging materials knowledge to drive reliability and efficiency.

This role will be responsible for improving the performance and reliability of packaging equipment through Tropicana Brands Group. This individual will support all manufacturing sites within the Supply Chain Network. The focus will be on optimizing performance of existing packaging machinery. This role will also execute capital projects that focus on packaging upgrades and obsolescence. Expected travel will be 20% per year. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assisting the plant operations and maintenance team with technical expertise
• Troubleshoot equipment, optimize performance, increase reliability, and improve line efficiency
• Interfacing with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to ensure sound solutions
• Development of capital projects including the overall scope, budget, and schedule
• Development of bid packages and written scopes of work
• Project Management and Contractor Management
• Specify and recommend Packaging Equipment and Components
• Enforce applicable machine safety standards & Tropicana Standards
• Work directly with operations team to utilize productivity tracking tools such as Zarpac to improve reliability and TE performance.
• Manage installation contractors, vendors, and OEM Service Technicians
• Coach and mentor Maintenance and Operations team members on Preventative Maintenance
• Troubleshoot and provide root cause analysis
• Update and Revise Tropicana Engineering Standards
• Demonstrated ability to implement short and long term strategies to support organizational operation and transformation
• Work within cross functional teams to deliver critical business initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other applicable engineering degree with relevant work experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Consumer Product Packaging Machinery, with a focus on efficiency improvement and reliability.
• Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience.
• Must be located in Bradenton, FL or willing to relocate to Bradenton, FL for the duration of employment
• Legally authorized to work in the country to which you are applying without requiring sponsorship or additional work permits now or in the future
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to support building strong internal and external relationships and effectively communicate your work product
• Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
• Strong project management skills, with a focus on schedule and budget adherence

Experience:

• Extensive experience working with high-speed packaging equipment
• Experience working in the Food & Beverage sector with strong understanding of sanitary design
• Experience with Chilled Products, Aseptic Packaging ,and ESL (Extended Shelf Life) technology is preferred
• Tropicana is looking for a well-rounded and experienced engineer with expertise in all aspects of primary and secondary packaging; Filling, Labeling, Inspection, Case and Tray Forming, Shrink Wrapping, Conveying, and Palletizing

The salary range for this position is $100M-$130M annually.
