JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

SUMMARY:

Overall responsibility for Client / Project specific JAS Projects' activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities will include the following, but not limited to:

Sub-contractors / Vendors

  • To identify potential sub-contractor / vendor to support our capabilities.
  • To conduct due diligence to all sub-contractor / vendor to ensure compliance.
  • To establish and maintaining good relationship with sub-contractor / vendor for better negotiation and quality of work.

Business Development
  • To attend regular face to face meeting with Clients maintaining & growing relationship.
  • To share sales lead with JAS's oversea offices to widen our network.

Contractual & Financial Management of Project business including:
  • Monitoring and managing account specific receivables and payables.
  • KPI & Milestone management: work closely with Operations to ensure C1 Cargowise processes are followed by all staff.
  • Implementing and amending specific localized documents & procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures as required.
  • Monitoring and reporting on: Ethical Conduct & Due Diligence, Transport Engineering requirements, Quality, Health and Safety, Environment including developing any required localized procedures
  • Negotiating with Carriers to obtain the best possible buying rates and favorable contractual terms on behalf of JP USA.
  • Risk Management, Insurance Claim management.

Overall responsibility client / project specific day-to-day operational aspects of the business including:
  • Responsible for managing a project team of 5 people.
  • To ensure JAS procedures and guidelines are followed including QHSSE, Transport Engineering, Ethical / Process Compliance.
  • Client service levels, always maintaining first in class operational and administrative procedures ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Recruitment of staff, personal development and welfare ensuring long term staff retention
  • Monitoring high profile shipment progress in conjunction with Ops team.
  • Chartering aircraft and vessels by following relevant SOPs.
  • Supervise subsequent loading and discharging operations in support of ops as/when required and raise subsequent client reports.
  • Liaison with JP transport engineering for out-of-gauge heavy lift shipments.

Attend any training courses as deemed necessary by Management.

Provide senior level out of hour's point of contact cover for clients as and when required including weekends and public holidays.

Constantly seek out and develop ways to improve the operational service received by JP clients, whilst increasing profit margins on JP business.

Attend Domestic and International Meetings as required.

Any other reasonable duties allocated by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • •Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of transportation industry, logistics and freight forwarding
  • Thorough knowledge of related business development & sales functions
  • Thorough knowledge of successful project management
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Must have valid driver's license and safe driving record

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree/ Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 10 years of operational experience of executing all aspects of Project forwarding,

ENVIRONMENT:

75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. 25% travel will be required in support of the position's responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
