Location: Seattle, WA
Salary: $120,000.00 USD Annually - $130,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
Duties: Join our POS+ team to develop and maintain a next-generation Point of Sale (POS) system. You'll work on a React-based frontend and a Java RESTful microservices backend hosted on AWS, enhancing an in-store experience across a distributed system.

Skills:

• Backend Development: Create and maintain RESTful microservices using Java 8+ and Spring Boot, deploying to Kubernetes.
• Frontend Development: Build responsive web applications with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS.
• AWS Deployment: Implement AWS multi-region solutions for high availability and disaster recovery.
• System Thinking: Ensure code maintainability, testability, and supportability.
• Design and Prototyping: Lead design efforts and set team standards.
• Monitoring: Implement proactive monitoring solutions.
• On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotations for system reliability.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, mentor juniors, and drive continuous improvement.
• Delivery: Consistently deliver valuable features and address design issues.

Education and Skills:

• Technical Proficiency:
  
  • Strong in Java 8+, Spring Boot, React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS.
  • Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
  • Experience with API development and AWS services (e.g., RDS, ECS, EKS, DynamoDB).
  • Understanding of AWS multi-region architectures.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  • Global load balancing and data replication.
  • Familiarity with AWS services like Route 53 and CloudFront.
  • Knowledge of data consistency models.
  • Experience with Kafka and NoSQL databases.
• Design Skills:
  
  • Apply design patterns (e.g., SOLID, CQRS).
  • Design for performance and scalability.
• Development Practices:
  
  • Advocate for automation in testing and deployment.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong in test-driven development (TDD).
• Infrastructure Knowledge:
  
  • Automate infrastructure with Terraform.
  • Proficient with operating systems and scripting.
  • Expertise in databases and data storage paradigms.
• Security Awareness:
  
  • Write secure code.
  • Experience with security tools and practices
