Viracor Eurofins is searching for a Solutions Architect in Lee's Summit, MO.

This is a Full Time position. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lee's Summit, Missouri are encouraged to apply.

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:

The Solution Architect is primarily responsible for:

  • Finding the best tech solution among all possible to solve the existing business problems.
  • Describing the structure, characteristics, behavior, and other aspects of software to project stakeholders.
  • Defining features, phases, and solution requirements.
  • Providing specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Essential Job Duties:

Senior - Fully meets the following responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis, architectural design and leadership on large complex projects
  • Analyze the technology environment
  • Analyze and document requirements
  • Define the collaboration / integration framework
  • Create a solution prototype
  • Participate in technology selection
  • Provide oversight of solution development
  • Support project management
  • Work within defined IT processes and procedures including the company's internal software development life cycle methodology (SDLC)
  • Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to peers for areas of expertise
  • Serve as liaisons between technical and business departments in order to ensure that all requirements and targets are met
  • Work with little to no supervision with extreme latitude for independent judgment
  • Consult with senior peers on large complexity projects
  • Proficient in all levels and phases of application development and support
  • Participate in 24x7 On Call rotation supporting break/fix ticket resolution
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Essential Behaviors, Accountabilities and Measures :

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to research architectural patterns to decide on optimal solution in given scenarios
  • Ability to document and present architecture concepts, often narrowing complex ideas to a single overview
  • Analytical, motivated and ability to learn new technologies and applications
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge and management of System Development Lifecycle Methodologies
  • 7+ years of successful application & system development and management; database experience utilizing the .NET Framework
  • 3+ years of successful Solution Architect Experience
  • Proven experience leading tasks or projects related to large size software implementations
  • Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Keenly attentive to detail
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
Preferred Experience:
  • Providing architecture solutions in a Cloud environment
  • Project experience using Agile Methodology
  • Leading projects, developing and administrating Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS): STARLIMS, Copia
  • Leading projects, developing and administrating Specimen Management Systems
  • Leading projects, developing and administrating Lab Instrument Interfaces connecting instruments to LIMS
  • SQL Server or Oracle Knowledge
  • Knowledge of testing laboratory operations and processes
  • High level of proficiency with PC based software programs; including project management tools, MS Project
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
  • Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
