Position Summary:
The Senior Process Development Engineer will be focused on product development for stamped components in the New Product Development (NPD) team. They will be responsible for providing engineering guidance and project team support for the design, development, and optimization of products, processes, tooling and/or equipment. This position will also provide leadership within NPD projects and be able to provide technical direction, incorporate DFM and assembly principles. This role will primarily focus on the stamping process and design solutions.
Responsibilities
Senior Process Development Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Research, design, and prototype new products/processes based on customer specifications. This would include leading design for manufacturability requirements and any other technical activities such as FEA, as required.
- Support the stamped prototype tooling team by providing engineering support and guidance as required.
- Work with stamped prototype tooling team on scheduling to ensure we are meeting customer and internal commit dates.
- Utilize Product knowledge in Neuro, CRM, and Surgical fields to design and develop robust engineering solutions to internal and customer requests. This may include finding new technologies for Cretex Medical.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust with company's shifting priorities based on customer needs.
- Vendor selection for new equipment and technology as needed to support customer projects or internally driven objectives.
- Oversee equipment installation, development, and training.
- Specify and develop tests for product/process testing.
- Be the key contact for customer projects and work with a team to accomplish customer required activities.
QualificationsSenior Process Development Engineer Job Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or other Engineering Science
- 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting; including state of the art manufacturing technology/concepts and cost reductions
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- High level of energy, personal accountability and integrity
- Detail oriented; checks own work, keeps accurate records, organizes information effectively
- Ability to tolerate ambiguity, multiple priorities and short deadlines
Senior Process Development Engineer Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Continuing education; including participation in local chapters, associations, and/or organizations
- Product and related manufacturing process knowledge in the Neuro, CRM, Surgical markets, and other related fields
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in process development and the manufacturing of cases and housings used in implants preferred
