This position is for the Office of Research and Innovation at Texas Tech University Health Sciences only. Major/Essential Functions
The Senior Contract Specialist at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) plays a pivotal role in advancing the university's strategic initiatives in the domain of clinical trials and sponsored research.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex research contracts, including but not limited to, clinical trial agreements, sponsored research agreements, data use agreements, material transfer agreements, and collaboration agreements with private and public partners.
- Engage with external stakeholders, such as industry sponsors and EU academic institutions, to ensure mutual understanding of contract terms and alignment with TTUHSC policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal TTUHSC departments, including research, legal, finance, and administration, to ensure seamless contract processes.
- Maintain open lines of communication with researchers and administrators at partner institutions and companies, ensuring clarity and timely progress in contract matters.
- Stay abreast of international, federal, state, and institutional regulations pertinent to research agreements. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging regulations in the domains of clinical trials and sponsored research.
- Advise TTUHSC stakeholders on contractual risks, ensuring that all research contracts comply with regulatory and institutional standards.
- Develop and implement best practices related to contract management and negotiation processes.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff and researchers on contractual matters.
- Monitor and report on contract activity metrics, providing insights to the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation on trends, challenges, and opportunities.

- Juris Doctor degree
