Role Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing statistical support to multiple discovery, development, and product defense projects in Veterinary Medicine Research and Development and Global Hatchery, and US Commercial, primarily for poultry but can be across multiple species. This includes both development of vaccines, biodevices, and outcomes research trials to evaluate competitive performance in the field. He/she will be responsible for identifying and implementing innovative approaches for design and analysis of clinical, laboratory, and DOE (design of experiments) studies. The individual should be able to review statistical literature in these areas for practical implementation in animal health R&D programs. Participation on project teams and serving as a liaison between Statistics and other departmental groups is required. The successful candidate will assist in the training of scientists and engineers in experimental design and related topics. Our department is highly collaborative and colleagues are expected to actively participate in group meetings to ensure that a common approach is taken to handling clinical, laboratory, and DOE study data.
Education:
- MS in Biostatistics/Statistics or related field with at least 10 years of direct work experience in the pharmaceutical, medical or bio device industry
- PhD in Biostatistics/Statistics preferably with 6 years of industry experience
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Knowledge of data handling and statistical analysis programming in PC-SAS
- Knowledge of experimental design, mixed linear and non-linear model methodologies, survival analysis and categorical data analysis
- Knowledge of Design of Experiments methodology
- Knowledge of measurement systems analysis and assay validation methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication and statistical consulting skills along with the ability to work effectively with both domestic and international colleagues remotely
- Ability to critically review scientific publications
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple simultaneous projects and significant attention to detail. This includes projects where work will be submitted and reviewed by domestic and international regulatory authorities.

- Experience with GCP and GLP principles
