The Strategic Advisor provides insights, direction, and implementation of business strategies to proactively position Heritage Construction + Materials as the preferred partner to support state and city infrastructure projects across Indiana and adjacent markets.

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement business strategies to achieve company growth objectives, with a focus on tailoring approaches to address the unique regulatory, economic, and competitive conditions of different geographic regions. Inclusive but not limited to:
• Conduct thorough market research to understand current market share and identify emerging opportunities in public and private markets.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for business expansion, including new markets, services, and partnerships.
• Promote innovative and data-driven approaches to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance competitive edge and value proposition.
• Integrate land and data strategies to drive cross-functional and business value
• Build and maintain strong understanding of the policy landscape, regulatory requirements, and key stakeholders. Inclusive but not limited to:
• Partner with The Heritage Group colleagues as a subject matter expert for our business and industry.
• Educate and advocate for policies and regulations that support business objectives and industry growth.
• Engage with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
• Identify and pursue government funding opportunities to support business initiatives.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement in business performance, including managing analytics, actionable insights, and strategic investments. Including but not limited to:
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends, measure performance, and inform strategic decisions.
• Develop and present reports on business performance, market conditions, and growth opportunities.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of business development initiatives.

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications

• Experience in public or private construction management including planning, funding, project oversight, and general management activities.

Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience in business development, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in project management practices, processes, software and tools.
• Experience with public sector procurement processes and private sector business development.
• Knowledge of government affairs, regulatory compliance, and policy advocacy.
• Expertise in business analytics and growth strategy development.
• This position will be based in Indianapolis, Indiana and may require up to 15% travel.
