Working independently, the Technical Service Specialist VI helps to provide best-in-class service for the brand through servicing the Delfield product line. The position is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting refrigeration and electrical systems. The Tech Service Specialist VI may work with assigned product reps to build positive working relationships and aid in educating our end users. This role regularly uses in-depth technical knowledge of refrigeration systems and electrical principles.

Qualifications

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide troubleshooting and operational support for refrigeration and heating systems.
  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of electronic controls, sequence of operations, and refrigeration components to assist customers in troubleshooting and repairing units.
  • Review claims that are outside of our warranty guidelines to determine if they warrant processing.
  • Maintains accuracy of computerized service records and files from for service techs, service agencies, sales and customers.
  • Build relationships with assigned field reps to provide product support and education
  • Troubleshoot returned units or parts to identify operational issues.
  • In some instances, travel to the customer location to assist in troubleshooting and repair
  • Participates in "on call" rotation within team.
  • Consistently operate in a manner that aligns to the Company Core Values.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge and Abilities- Include Certifications, Licenses and software and/or equipment used to perform the job
  • Refrigeration experience including diagnosing, repairing, and maintenance of systems, understand electronic controls and sequence of operations, brazing refrigeration components and evacuate/recharge refrigeration systems properly
  • Working knowledge of reading electrical diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of all refrigeration components and how they operate
  • Universal EPA Certification
  • Effectively communicates, written/oral: ability to lead a technical conversation sometimes under stressful situations
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Travel Required: 5%
  • Able to lift 35 lbs, walk on the manufacturing floor, stand for extended periods of time, travel by air, or car.
