RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a successful private equity real estate company located in Boston, is in search of a Property Accountant. This company offers a stable work environment, competitive compensation and a hybrid work situation. The Property Accountant will manage the day-to-day general accounting tasks as well as quarterly financial and management reporting requirements for the properties and funds under management. They will be responsible of ensuring affected parties such as tenants, property management, and joint venture partners receive information and reporting in a timely and professional manner. This position has frequent interaction with the outside accounting consultant and property management staff of the firm. Responsibilities:- Plan and execute the quarterly close process, including preparing journal entries and external reporting packages for the properties under management
- Assist the fund-level accounting for the investors
- Assist in the preparation and review of the operating revenue/expense budgets
- Administer the quarterly distributions for the fund investors
- Perform data entry and updates to the accounting system such as journal entries and new leases
- Review and code accounts payable invoices weekly
- Assist property managers with billing questions/collections from tenants
- Send rent statements and utility billings monthly to tenants and monitor cash receipts
- Prepare monthly bank, accounts receivable, mortgage payables and other balance sheet account reconciliations
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
- 1-2 years of real estate experience; Experience in abstracting leases and preparing annual escalation calculations preferred
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with Yardi Systems is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
